Course Goal: A six week class combining both onstage and on-camera acting techniques with a web/zoom performance focus. Actors will work on character creation, scene study, script analysis and making BOLD choices. Each actor will celebrate the end of session with a memorized monologue and/or collaborative scene performance. Woohoo!

Horror writing workshop with Christina Ying

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Students will engage in a 6-week intensive writing workshop to learn the fundamental elements of creating a horror stage play. Students will discover how core  concepts of character, structure, plot, theme, and tone interact with the horror genre. The workshop will also explore the integration of American and Filipino cultural folklore into the horror genre. Students are expected to complete a 10-12 page one act that will be performed for a reading.

  • Concentrated Disinfectant Solutions (70% Alcohol, Bleach, Hydrogen Peroxide, etc.)

  • Toilet Paper

  • Paper Towels

  • Latex/Nitrile Gloves

  • Masks (Non-medical, surgical, N95)

  • Word puzzles, crosswords, sudoku, colored pencils, coloring books, reading materials

  • Non-perishable goods (especially rice, dried noodles, crackers, spaghetti sauce, tuna, sardines, corned beef, fruit cocktail, etc.)
