Kwento Times: Banyan by Jeannie Barroga

Kwento Times Staged Reading Series returns with Jeannie Barroga’s “Banyan,” directed by Golda Sargento

Saturday Oct 24, 2020
6pm
Virtual event

*All donations will benefit the development of the book, KATATAGAN : Endurance Filipino American Theater Artists in the Bay Area

Synopsis:
Post 9/11 in a conglomerate’s secret room, a paper shredder, Ona, lures her brother Ian, to visit -- the “roots” -- the Philippines. Familia Wizard of Oz icons double their roles and affect Ona’s escape from her own cage. The play parodies the chaotic moment in history of falling buildings and dwindling confidence in leadership where opportunists cover their tracks and ‘munchkins’ demonstrate resilience.
