ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Reed Flores (he/him) is a Queer CHamoru and Filipino theatre dude in the East Bay. He's worked nationally with Seattle Rep, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Breaking Wave Theatre Company, The Song Collective, and locally with SFBATCO, NCTC, Bindlestiff Studio, PlaygroundSF, Hillbarn Theatre, Theatre Rhino, and TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, where he is currently the Line Producer. Recent directing credits include: Writing Fragments Home (World Premiere, Hillbarn Theatre), Pueblo Revolt (World Premiere, Alter Theatre Ensemble), A Driving Beat (TheatreWorks' New Works Festival). CLASS DESCRIPTION

This Directing workshop is tailored to new directors to introduce them to the role of a director in a theatrical process, unlearn toxic power structures, and facilitate a playful and imaginative rehearsal space. Created with the intention of directing in Bindlestiff Studio’s annual Stories High programming and working in tandem with the Acting and Writing workshops, this workshop will prepare directors to work within the Bindlestiff rehearsal parameters and move into more directing work in the field.

INCOME BASED TUITION

To make our workshops equitable and accessible we have a sliding scale income-based tuition fee. You will be able to choose your level at checkout.

$40 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000 or less (USE CODE: $25K)

$80 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000-45,000 (USE CODE: $45K)

$120 - recommended for participants with annual income of $45,000-70,000 (USE CODE: $70K)

$180 - recommended for participants with annual income of $70,000-$100,000 (USE CODE: $100K)

$300 - recommended for participants with annual income of $100,000 or more

Drop-ins are not available. Refund Policy: A full refund/transfer is available only if requested prior to the start of the first session. No refunds for missed/cancelled classes.
