Kilig Girl: A Prologue

Sat, May 29 @7-9PM
Show + live talkback
$11

Kilig Girl: A Prologue is written and performed by Lauren Andrei Garcia. It is a theatrical show created for the digital experience due to the pandemic. It is a contemporary examination + perspective of the relationship between love, idealism, the Filipinx-American identity, and experience. During the performance, we follow Tetchie,  a 20-something living in San Francisco as she processes one important moment in her marriage, the moment she decides to stay or leave. We witness her stream-of-consciousness as she reimagines her experience of domestic violence in order to rework her traumatic memory. It is lyrical, mythical, and horrific.
