Stories High 2023 presents Directing Workshop with Michelle Talgarow

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Michelle
is a Kalmyk/Filipina performance maker in the Bay Area for over 25 years. She is beyond excited to facilitate the Directing workshop for Stories High this season! More so, she’s grateful for the opportunity to share back with a community that has helped shape the artist she is today. Her most recent directing credits are, THE CHINESE LADY by Lloyd Suh with Capital Stage in Sacramento,  MAN OF GOD by Anna Ouyang Moench with Shotgun Players in Berkeley, and BALIKBAYAN BOX by Jeffrey Lo with TheatreFIRST. Michelle is a proud member of Shotgun Players’ artistic company and a proud member of the all AAPI Bay Area theatre collective, Ferocious Lotus. Michelle is currently an adjunct professor at University of San Francisco. 

CLASS DESCRIPTION
The directing workshop teaches the essential principles of the art of directing; script analysis, working with actors, tech, and designers. Participants will gain hands-on experience through the Stories High production--applying knowledge from the workshop to the stage. 

COVID-19 Protocols

This is an in-person workshop. To ensure the safety of everyone in the workshop we ask participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination on the first day. If you feel sick (coughing, sore throat, fever, vomiting) please stay home.

INCOME BASED TUITION:

To make our workshops equitable and accessible we have a sliding scale income-based tuition fee. You will be able to choose your level at checkout.

$10 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000 or less

$40 - recommended for participants with annual income of $25,000-45,000

$90 - recommended for participants with annual income of $45,000-70,000

$180 - recommended for participants with annual income of $70,000-$100,000

$300 - recommended for participants with annual income of $100,000 or more

$400 - for participants who would like to support another person to attend this class
