In the Bay Area, we dance a lil’ different…and it’s time to bring similar energy into the Bay Area Improv scene finally. Tina Fey once told Donald Glover, "Everything that is Good comes from Honesty"…but unfortunately, due to outside Systems and sometimes, internal struggles, not everybody is privileged to be as Honest as they want to be. This workshop will use the language of “Yes And” and other Improv philosophies to help participants Love all of themselves... support their Communit(ies)…learn skills to pay their bills…and MAYBE, the most radical part of all...have a little fun in the process 😁…ALL FOR THE LOW COST OF $0

Graduation Shows:
Dec 2 alongside Kevin Camia’s Comedy Workshop at Bindlestiff Studio
TBD in January at Endgames Improv (2965 Mission Street)

About J.O.W.Y
Jowy started his Improv journey in the 5th grade when he sang a Hoedown about how much he hated his teacher at the time to impress his middle school crush. As part of the National Honor’s Society for 3 years at Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco, Jowy tutored his peers in multiple disciplines. For 2 summers at Jose Valdes Math Institute within Stanford University, he also assisted teaching Mathematics to primarily Hispanic grade-school children. In 2015, Jowy found an Improv mentor in Anthony Veneziale (Freestyle Love Supreme and Speechless) when Anthony asked recently turned 21 year old Jowy to freestyle rap in front of a public audience with only 2 hours notice. From there, Jowy was the “Technical Specialist” for Speechless, volunteered nightly for a year straight in exchange for Endgames classes, finished Leela’s Musical Improv curriculum, and received a BATS Communities of Color Improv Scholarship. He’s performed in multiple Improv ensembles/House Teams over the years. Currently, he “competes” in short-form Improv in “Feed the God of Comedy” showing every other Friday at 7pm at Endgames Theatre.
